Safeguarding Young People Online
The Avoca Football Netball Club understands social media is a positive way for young people to connect, celebrate their achievements and enjoy being part of our Club.
While social media can strengthen friendships and team culture, it also comes with responsibilities for players, parents and the Club.
The Club has released a new “Safeguarding Young People & Unofficial Social Media Accounts” statement as part of its Social Media and Communications Policy. This statement also forms part of our commitment to child safety and stamping out bullying.
Parents are encouraged to play an active role in understanding what their children are doing online and what apps and accounts they are actively engaging with.
If you have any questions or concerns about social media use and your child, please contact a member of the Committee or the Club’s Child Safety Officer.
